Master class No. 2

From idea to AR: create and publish your immersive project

A practical workshop: idea → source → digital object → publish → QR → preview → AR.

Duration: 90–120 minutesFormat: A practical workshop

Goal

Walk the full path from an idea to a published AR object

Show the complete path:

  1. idea
  2. source material
  3. digital content
  4. publish
  5. QR
  6. preview
  7. AR

The main principle

You do not have to be a programmer to create your first immersive project.

Program

Seven practical parts — from choosing a format to a joint collection

  1. 10 min

    Choose a format

Image, video, 3D, 360°, AR object, gallery, interactive scene.

  2. 15 min

    Prepare the source material

Photos, drawings, models, video, archives, music — quality, rights, scale.

  3. 25 min

    Create the digital object

Simple transformations — and how AI can help.

  4. 20 min

    Publish the project in Avento

Title, cover, type, file — browser preview vs full AR in the app.

  5. 15 min

Place the object in the real world

A map pin, scale, and how a person meets the object.

  6. 10 min

    Publish and share

Public page, QR, and the path into Avento AR.

  7. 10 min

Turn the experiment into a project

From one object to a series, a route, an exhibition, a city project.

10 minutes

1. Choose a format

We look at what an idea can become:

  • Image
  • Video
  • Transparent video
  • 3D model
  • 360° image
  • 360° video
  • AR object
  • Virtual gallery
  • Interactive scene

Each participant chooses the format that fits their work best.

15 minutes

2. Prepare the source material

What you can use:

  • A photo of a painting or object
  • Your own drawing
  • A photo of a craft piece
  • An existing 3D model
  • Video
  • Archival photographs
  • Your own music or voice

We discuss source quality, background, scale, copyright, and how to prepare the files.

25 minutes

3. Create the digital object

A few simple examples of turning source material into content:

Painting

Painting → digital art object

Craft photo

Photo of a piece → 3D presentation

Archive photo

Archival photograph → historical scene

Person

A person → digital character

Drawing

A drawing → animated object

Separately we show how AI can help with images, ideas, a scenario, animation, and the project description.

20 minutes

4. Publish the project in Avento

We actually create an object and add:

Title

Description

Cover

Content type

3D / video / 360° / AR file

Location, if needed

In the browser

Content you can show immediately through a link or QR code.

In the Avento app

Full AR / Unity scenes with geolocation and interactivity.

15 minutes

5. Place the object in the real world

We choose a point. For example:

  • This virtual sculpture stands next to the club building
  • This historical character can be met near the old factory

We discuss scale, the object’s position, and how a person interacts with the space around it.

10 minutes

6. Publish and share

We get a public project page, create a QR code, and check the path:

  1. QR
  2. browser
  3. preview
  4. Open in Avento
  5. full AR

Where to place the QR:

  • At an exhibition
  • Next to a painting
  • On the author’s business card
  • On a poster
  • On a festival stand
  • On product packaging
  • Right next to the real object

7. Turn the experiment into a project

The next level looks like this:

  1. one object
  2. a series
  3. a route
  4. an exhibition
  5. a city project

10 digital artists of Balashikha

A joint collection of local authors in the digital layer of the city.

Vanished Balashikha

Buildings and people of the past — in AR, on the real streets.

A project like this can already be shown to partners, clients, and festivals — and used as a base for a grant application.

Final assignment

Formulate your small project

Each participant writes their own formula:

  1. Author
  2. idea
  3. place
  4. format
  5. audience

The best works can be joined into the first shared collection.
